Listen to Vol Calls in Knoxville and East Tennessee on Sports Radio WNML (FM 99.1 and AM 990) each week, Mondays from 8 to 9pm ET!
Vol Calls, the official statewide call-in radio show for the University of Tennessee Volunteers, is underway in its 28th season. Vol Calls once again is on location from Calhoun’s On the River in downtown Knoxville. The one-hour show airs at 8 p.m. (Eastern) / 7 p.m. (Central) across the state of Tennessee. Bob Kesling, the voice of the Tennessee Volunteers and UT’s director of broadcasting, serves as the show’s host and is joined by Vol Network veteran Brent Hubbs to answer questions and provide insight into University of Tennessee athletics.
During the 2015 football season, Tennessee coach Butch Jones will appear on-site at Calhoun’s On the River each week to answer questions from the live audience and take calls from around the country.
Calhoun’s On the River returns as “Vol Calls” headquarters for the fourth straight season and an agreement has just been reached for the iconic restaurant to serve as the show’s home for two more years following this season. Famous for its award-winning ribs, BBQ and other delicious Southern dishes, Calhoun’s is one of Tennessee’s most popular restaurant destinations. Calhoun’s will give away prizes each week during football season through its Facebook and Twitter pages including two game tickets and two hospitality passes for each home UT football game. Weather permitting, shows in early Fall will be held out on the restaurant’s large deck overlooking the Tennessee River and Neyland Stadium.
“Vol Calls” is the exclusive radio program and event where Tennessee fans can call in and talk with the head coaches of the Volunteers and Lady Vols. Fans can place a “Vol Call” anywhere in the United States by dialing 1-800-688-8657 or Tennessee customers of Verizon can dial #TENN. Patrons at Calhoun’s On the River may ask a question in person and fans may also submit questions through the IMG-Vol Network Facebook page. The program can be heard on 50-plus radio stations across the state of Tennessee and the Southeast on the Vol Radio Network.
