Alcoa Police are investigating a pursuit which ended in a crash that injures two people and shuts down Aloca Highway for hours.

Officers witnessed a reckless driver in an older model Maxima speeding on Hall Road near Texas Roadhouse. Another officer spotted the car speeding near Lois Lane and said the driver was displaying signs of being impaired.

The driver underestimated a curve on Alcoa Highway at Rivertrace Boulevard and rear-ended a commercial box van, causing it to overturn and hit the bridge wall. The driver of the Maxima, 41-year-old Jerome Robinson, was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition.  Warrants are issued against Robinson for driving on a revoked license for DUI, speeding, reckless endangerment, evading arrest, vehicular assault and driving under the influence.
