BSB PREVIEW: #5/12 Vols Open Two-Week Homestand on Tuesday vs. NKU

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – No. 5/12 Tennessee kicks off a two-week homestand on Tuesday night when it hosts Northern Kentucky at Lindsey Nelson Stadium for the first of nine straight home games.

The next nine games will be the final regular-season home contests for the Vols this year before they travel to Arkansas prior to beginning postseason play at the SEC Tournament in Hoover, Alabama.
 

IMPORTANT GAMEDAY INFO & REMINDERS

Lindsey Nelson Stadium is undergoing extensive renovations that will make it one of the best college baseball stadiums in the nation upon completion. Renovations will be ongoing throughout the season, so be sure to be on the lookout for updated information throughout the course of the year when it comes to seating, stadium entry, parking, etc.

Fans are encouraged to check the Tennessee Baseball Gameday Central page prior to each game for the most updated info in regards to parking, stadium policies, stadium entry points and more.
 

TICKET INFORMATION

Limited single-game tickets for non-conference home games can be purchased through AllVols.com.

Single-game tickets for all games can also be purchased through Ticketmaster, the exclusive resale marketplace for Tennessee Athletics, by clicking HERE.

In order to keep Lindsey Nelson Stadium as full as possible, we are encouraging season ticket holders who are unable to use their tickets for a game(s) to transfer your tickets to another Vols fan (Instructions HERE).

If you’re a season ticket holder and can’t make it to a baseball game this season, you also now have the option to donate your tickets. Your tickets will be donated back to Tennessee Athletics and will be distributed to the military and/or local charities in the Knoxville area.

All ticket donations will be accepted until 5 PM the business day before a game. After donating your tickets a gift receipt equal to the ticket value will be emailed to you. You may save that receipt for your tax records.

In just three all-time meetings with Northern Kentucky, all of which have come in Knoxville and during the Tony Vitello era, Tennessee has outscored the Norse, 42-4, including a 9-3 victory a season ago in its opening game of the 2024 NCAA Knoxville Regional.

Vols Look to Sustain Midweek Success
Tennessee enters Tuesday’s contest with an 11-1 record in midweek games this season, with six of those 11 victories coming by double digits. Throughout Vitello’s tenure (2018-pres.), the Vols are an impressive 74-11 overall in midweek games.

Peebles on a Tear
Cannon Peebles has been extremely productive offensively for the Vols of late, batting .344 with 11 hits, five home runs and 13 RBIs in the team’s last 10 games. The junior backstop recently recorded three hits in back-to-back SEC games, doing so in the series finale at Ole Miss before following that up with another three-hit outing in UT’s opening game against Kentucky on April 18. In that win over the Wildcats, the switch-hitting Peebles homered from both sides of the plate and finished with four RBIs. He continued his hot streak with another homer and a season-high five RBI night in a 9-3 win at LSU last Saturday.

 Fischer’s On-Base Streak Keeps Growing
Junior infielder Andrew Fischer has been an on-base machine for the Big Orange this season, leading the team with a .505 on-base percentage and an SEC-high 47 walks. The New Jersey native is the only player in the SEC to have reached base in all 44 games this season. Dating back to his time at Ole Miss last season, Fischer has reached base safely in 47 consecutive contests.
