Bob Thomas has spent a lot of his life at WIVK. This is his second stint at the Frog Station. Bob previously spent 20 years at WIVK in sales while also hosting the highest-rated midday radio show in America for over 16 years. Bob spent 15 years in Los Angeles writing, producing and starring in commercials, TV shows and film. One of the highlights, he was Slammin’ Sammy Stands in the hit film FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS. As a TV writer he wrote some of the most popular episodes of the huge hit, LIZZIE McGUIRE. He owned the Knoxville Cherokees hockey team, one of the original teams of the East coast Hockey League. He served as the chairman of the Knoxville Christmas Parade for 16 years. For 5 years he was on the Board of the Cerebral Palsy Center for Handicapped Adults serving as their President for two years. He is a previous winner of the City of Knoxville volunteer of the Year Award. Bob was elected to the Knox County Commission in 2014 representing the entire county. He is also on the Dogwood Arts Festival Board, the South’s premiere festival and is the Honorary Co-Chairman of the 2014-2015 Festival.
