Knoxville Police are investigating a fatal accident in East Knoxville.

It happened yesterday evening at the intersection of Rutledge Pike and Spring Hill Road. Police say a man driving a Chevy sedan was pronounced dead after being taken from the scene.

A preliminary investigation shows that driver was trying to make a left turn onto Spring Hill Road when he was hit on the passenger side of the car by a Ford truck which remained at the scene.
