Knoxville, TN (WOKI) A man is facing several charges after crashing into a Tennessee Highway Patrol trooper’s cruiser while drunk Sunday afternoon in Knoxville.

According to charging documents, two troopers were already working a traffic stop on a local bridge involving another suspected impaired driver when a pickup truck, driven by Jorge Agustin Castellanoz Martinez, rammed into the rear of one of the patrol vehicles causing damage to the chain of cars. As a result of the collision, Trooper Amaro Carrion was also struck by his patrol vehicle.

Castellanoz Martinez faces several assault and reckless endangerment charges, along with a driving under the influence charge.

No word on the condition of Trooper Carrion.
